During the summer, current law students retain access to all of Denver University's Law databases on the A-Z list with some exceptions. For Lexis Advance, Bloomberg, and Westlaw, summer usage policies are described below.

Westlaw

Current students may only use their Law School accounts over the summer for non-commercial purposes.  You can turn to these resources to gain understanding and build confidence in your research skills, but you cannot use them in situations where you are billing a client. Examples of permissible uses for your academic password include:

  • Summer coursework
  • Research assistant assignments
  • Law Review or Journal research
  • Moot Court research
  • Clinical work
  • Unpaid Internship/Externship sponsored by the school

For more information, read the Terms and Conditions agreement at https://lawschool.westlaw.com/marketing/display/MI/110.

Lexis

Current students have unlimited and unrestricted access during the summer (May - August). During this period the permissible uses of LexisNexis law school educational IDs are expanded to include use at any law firm, government agency, court or other legal position, internship, externship, or clerkship (including paid positions). Please see the Lexis Terms and Conditions page at https://www.lexisnexis.com/en-us/terms/educational.page.

Bloomberg Law

Current students have unlimited and unrestricted access during the summer.
